Davis Mountains State Park
Davis Mountains State Park is a 2,709-acre state park located in the Davis Mountains is
Jeff Davis County, Texas. The closest town is Fort Davis, Texas. The park elevation is between 5,000 and 6,000 ft above sea level. You can camp at one of their RV sites or stay
in the Indian Lodge that was built by the CCC. With its white adobe walls, historic aura, and refreshing pool, Indian Lodge is a welcome oasis in West Texas. Explore the natural beauty of the Davis Mountains by day, and relax in your comfortable room by night. Indian Lodge is a full-service hotel set in Davis Mountains State Park. Eat the Black Bear Restaurant, which offers breakfast, lunch and dinner Wednesday through Sunday, year-round. Hike or bike the many trails of Davis Mountains State Park.Learn about the area at a park program or visit the Interpretive Center or bird blind. Visit the Interpretive Center, which has exhibits and an indoor bird blind that overlooks a wildlife watering station. You can also check out a GPS unit there. Men of the CCC molded adobe blocks to form the walls of Indian Lodge. They used locally harvested materials for the finishing interior touches. CCC workers in Bastrop built the lodge’s furniture.
